Politics in publishing and...well, politics

I just found out that one of the books I was most looking forward to reading this summer was delayed for a year because the cover needs to be changed. Ugh! I actually loved the cover for Bennett Madison’s new book The Blonde of the Joke. I think it’s sexy and bold and just plain amazing looking. What do you think? So now I have to wait to read the book and I—a blonde and HUGE fan of the Lulu Dark books—am totally bummed. You have to hate politics, especially when it gets in the way of reading a good book.

Speaking of politics, I was blown away by Sara Zarr’s post on the YA for Obama network as well as in her blog post. Sometimes I just wish Sara could speak for me. Or at least that I was as good a writer as she is so I could sound just as amazing as she does. I think I’ll start a Sara Zarr for President campaign. Then again, if she’s busy running for president she won’t have time to finish her third book, and that would be even more of a tragedy than The Blonde of the Joke being put on the publishing hold list.
