You have got to feel good today.
I’m ready to get up, go out and do something more. Obama’s speech last night was so moving. Now I just have to make sure I keep that feeling going. So often after an election we loose that excitement for change and we forget why we voted for a candidate in the first place. Now we all need to work together to keep this momentum going.
While I am totally stoked about Obama, I have to give a shout-out to an old friend of mine, Jarod Hitchings, for unseating the Republican incumbent in his local election. Toby Dean was a Montgomery County Illinois Board Member in a predominantly conservative community, but Jarod will now be taking over the job thanks to a nearly 10 percent margin of voters. And it couldn’t go to a better man. I have known Jarod for almost ten years now—we met while doing internships in Springfield—and I know he will do a fantastic job. So much for being part of an apathetic generation.
